The Music Hall can hold around 6,000 concert-goers, in terraced mezzanine floors set above a lower Orchestra pit.

Famous performers at Radio City Music Hall

More than 700 movies have premiered at Radio City since 1933, starring legends like Cary Grant, Elizabeth Taylor, Gregory Peck, Katharine Hepburn and Ginger Rogers. Other visitors included Jimmy Stewart, Barbara Stanwyck, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., Rosalind Russell and many more. Concerts over the years have been given by performers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., BB King and Ray Charles. You might also have seen great operatic tenors like Jose Carreras, or classical musicians like Itzhak Perlman.

You’ll still catch the occasional movie premiere here, but Radio City is now best known for its popular stage shows, concerts, special attractions and media events. After a 2019 renovation, the grand reopening gala featured a host of well-known artists, as well as the venue’s own Radio City Rockettes. The first solo concert after the reopening starred Celine Dion, with subsequent performances from King Crimson and Bjork.
