About Jason Isbell

In 2023, Isbell released his "Weathervanes" album with The 400 Unit, and followed it up last March with his first solo album in about a decade, "Foxes in the Snow". The record features the iconic title track alongside fan-favorites "Burry Me", "Wind Behind the Rain", and "Good While It Lasted". Sharing the pure folk energies that define his artistry, it's an easy listen among fan who have grown familiar with his unique allure.

Looking back at Weathervanes, that record became an instant hit among the crowd especially in his last set of shows, where his singles, "Deathwish", "Cast Iron Skillet", and "Save the World", made every single night one for the road.

Back when he parted ways with his former band, the Drive by Truckers, Jason found immense passion for his solo work. Later on, he kicked off a new journey with The 400 Unit, releasing their eponymous album in February 2009. In 2012, they released their second album "Here We Rest". The song "Alabama Pines" was awarded "Song of the Year" at the Americana Music Awards. Since then, they've been jamming and rocking it out together, creating folk tunes that never fail to hit right home.

Across the board, his music is dedicated to his roots that made him the musician he is today. Touching hearts with every melody, story, and lyrical adventure, a Jason Isbell song is instanly recognizable.

"The soul music that came out of there, and a lot of the soul-influenced rock and roll and country music that came out of the studios in north Alabama in the 1960s and 1970s had a big influence on me," he shared with Flagpole Magazine.
