In 2005 the tv show, ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ premiered. Starring Charlie Day, Howerton, McElhenney, Kaitlin Olson, and Danny DeVito, the sitcom follows the over-complicated plots of the main characters, known as ‘The Gang’ as they run a measly Irish Bar called ‘Paddy’s Pub’. The show is a dark comedy hit for viewers and its 16th series is currently available for streaming. There is no end in sight for the show, and fans love the offensive, often political and dark comedy of the show, and in 2021 Howerton, Day, and McElhenney started The Always Sunny Podcast. The podcast is a trip down tv memory lane with an episode-by-episode-recap of the show and all the antics and schemes of ‘The Gang’, like the episode where a video store clerk brings about a relationship melodrama. But… sometimes they don’t and will have DMCs about drive-thru altercations, compete to see who is the healthiest and reminisce about trippy 80’s cartoons.
