Sleep Token at Radio City Music Hall

Born from the ancient, shrouded depths of slumber, the deity called “Sleep” summons its soul-rending symphonies into the mortal realm. And with them came forth a Vessel. This 2024, anonymous British metal band Sleep Token plots a Radio City Music Hall ritual on May 22 for you to sink your spirit into, following a sold-out series of Australian shows and appearances at the Red Rocks and Sick New World Festival.

Donning perpetually worn masks, the cloaked visages of Sleep Token invite you to a mystifying event where alt-metal, prog-rock, and indie pop fuse into chaotically cathartic expression. Our headlining act unveiled themselves in 2016, officially introducing the lore of Sleep with their first single, “Thread the Needle,” followed by debut EPs One and Two.

After signing with Spinefarm Records, the group released Sundowning, their first full-length album, in November 2019. It rose to the Top 40 of the UK Sales charts and featured dense, slow-burn hits ideal for setting the concert’s mood, such as “The Offering” and “Drag Me Under.” A couple of years later, they revealed their second studio record, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, which was hailed a 10/10 “masterpiece” by Distorted Sound Magazine. It showcased an eclectic ebb and flow across singles “Alkaline,” “The Love You Want,” and “Hypnosis,” which the show will invoke to push you further into the abyss.

That brings us to yesteryear with the release of Take Me Back to Eden, concluding the trilogy as Sleep Token’s highest-charting album yet. It peaked 3rd in the UK and 16th on Billboard 200, with Top 2 finishes in both Alternative and Hard Rock lists. Ambitious and unpredictably emotional as the upcoming event, it featured the band’s first US chart-placing tracks, which include "Chokehold,” “Granite,” and “The Summoning.” The same year, they won the revered Heavy Music Award for Best UK Artist.
