Currently, Gillis serves as the co-host alongside fellow stand-up comedian Matt McCusker on the highly popular Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast, which boasts the highest number of subscribers on Patreon. Apart from this, he frequently appears as a guest on The Bonfire on Sirius XM and The Joe Rogan Experience on Spotify.
When asked about taking on new material, he explains to RVA Magazine the importance of figuring out what humor truly means to you. He goes on to highlight that once you do, it's about identifying what you find funny and then figuring out how to convey that humor to others.
By fine-tuning his comedic edge, he not only secured the title of Best Stand-Up Special for "Live in Austin" at the Theinterrobang Comedy Awards but was also recognized as "Stand-Up Comedian of the Year" at the same event.
Back in 2021, the popular podcaster released his debut comedy special, Shane Gillis: Live in Austin, which accumulated more than sixteen million streams on YouTube upon its release. The following year, he teamed up with John McKeever along with Booklight Entertainment and Outback Presents to produce Gilly & Keeves: The Special, which was recognized as one of the top five comedy content by the CrowdUltra Awards.
In addition to the mentioned series, he has also featured in the first season of Peacock's Bupkis, where he shares the screen with Pete Davidson, Edie Falco, Joe Pesci, and other notable names in the industry.
